St Charles Borromeo’s  São João in Chicago June 7th!

During the month of June in Brazil and Portugal giving thanks and praise to Catholic solemnities, rural life, and marital union is the celebration of São João.

The Festival takes place in country areas and men dress up as farm boys with big straw hats and women dress up wearing pigtails, freckles, and painted gap teeth and red checkered dresses. The Loving tribute to Brazilian country side, country music and traditional country foods will be carried on with the Brazilian Catholic Community in Chicago.
