BrazilChicago.com recently caught up with Melina Alves, Chicago resident and Brazilian reality star of "Who Dunnit?", an ABC network show from creator and executive producer, Anthony E. Zuiker. Alves shared how this experience affected her life, career and a BIG Move.

“This experience taught me how to commit some pretty horrible murders! Ha ha... I'm just kidding. It taught me what I am really capable of. I'm now a stronger person, a more confident person, and my drive is on fire right now.” says Alves.

The interactive show presented a variety of criminal investigation techniques to contestants as they utilized them in hopes of determining the killer in each episode and eventually winning the grand prize of $250,000.

Not only was Melina's experience once-in-a-lifetime, but she was also unique among her fellow competitors. Melina was also the only contestant who did not have any kind of experience in criminal science or police work prior to the show. Working as a flight attendant, she felt she was the underdog.

How did Melina survive and keep moving forward throughout the nine-week show? Will and Determination. She fought until the end. "What Brazilian do you know who isn't a fighter?" she laughs. "I had to always be aware of my surroundings, and always be alert to everyone's body language."

Week after week, Melina used her people skills to create her own strategy and stay strong. But with a grand prize of $250,000, virtually every contestant found his/her inner strength, making the competition even more fierce. Even after such a battle Melina says she "can’t wait to work with the producers again on another opportunity."

So what’s next for Melina?

Melina is moving to Los Angeles to continue her acting career. "Being the first Brazilian on an American reality show was just the start." she says. " I'm also working more with my non-profit cause, People Helping People Worldwide." The organization's goals include installing water wells in Africa and offering shelter, schooling and medical attention to as many people as possible.

Melina plans to partner with other charities as well. She returns to her birthplace, Rio, to see her family at the end of the month.

Thanks Melina!
